While working as a Gym Instructor and Personal trainer, Jo’s passion for chronic pain and neurological and movement disorders motivated her to pursue a career in the physical sciences. In 2006, Jo graduated with first class honours from Curtin University with a B.Sc degree in Physiotherapy, as well as completing her B.Sc Sports Science Degree in 2007. She has also undertaken training in balance and vestibular disorders (including BPPV), occupational health and safety, dry needling and Bikefit.

Working extensively with teams from the WAFL, the WARU football codes and Sports Medicine Australia for over a decade, Jo’s knowledge and development of the athlete’s coordination, motor skills and movement patterns was instrumental in injury prevention and rehabilitation. Jo is a physiotherapy clinical tutor with Curtin University supervising students during practical assessments and treatments. She also instructs Rocktape courses throughout WA as well as international seminars through Singapore, Indonesia and Malaysia.

Commencing Pilates training in 2008, Jo achieved her Diploma of Pilates Instruction in 2012 and incorporates Pilates into her physiotherapy sessions. Jo prides herself on teaching her clients how to improve their body awareness, range of motion and efficiency of movement. With a range of clientele in both age and ability, the common denominator with all her clients is their desire to improve the body’s abilities and movement efficiency to enjoy activities today and for many years to come.
