Rocktape welcomes Rockstar – Rachel Neylan, a member of the Australian Women’s Road Cycling Team and the Italian Professional Team – “Geox-Pasta Zara”.
In just 2 years Rachel has made the transition from runner to rower to elite cyclist and Rocktape are very excited to be associated with Rachel as she works towards her goal of being selected for the 2012 Olympics in London.
Rachel missed a potential opportunity to race a home world championships after being selected in the road cycling team for Geelong, but was unable to race due to injury.
“As a physiotherapist, I know the importance of maintaining the correct posture when riding to ensure I can continue to exert maximum power. Rocktape is elastic and offers a more comfortable alternative to traditional rigid tape, and provides increased proprioceptive feedback to the problem area which assists in the retraining of the muscles which maintain the correct posture,” said Rachel. “I have a challenging year ahead of me and I want to do everything I can to help me achieve my goals, and Rocktape is assisting me maintain an optimal position while riding.”
In 2010, Rachel has racked up a series of impressive results:
- 4th Road Race Australian Championships, VIC
- 6th Time Trial Australian Championships, VIC
- 6th GP Mameranus, Luxembourg
- 7th Stage 2 Time Trial , 9th GC – Tour of Limousin, France
- 8th Novi Ligurie Classic, Italy
- 10th Durango-Durango Emakumeen Saria, Spain
Rachel Neylan currently resides and trains in Adelaide, South Australia, and is coached by Tim Decker at the South Australian Sports Institute, but spends part of the year based in Italy, racing for her Professional Team.
